Kaplan Early
Learning Company recently made some valuable
contributions for the children and child care workers of
Mississippi affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Kaplan donated two truckloads of materials, worth approximately
$750,000, to
Embrace Mississippi’s Children,
a coalition of Mississippi and
national organizations collecting materials and monetary gifts
to help early care and education programs in Mississippi rebuild
in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Kaplan has donated more than
$750,000 in teacher materials including diagnostic tests,
computer software, children’s activities, and adaptive materials
for children with special needs.
Embrace coordinator Lynn Darling, Ph.D., said ”We will sort the
materials and place them in teacher resource kits to be
distributed among the centers in the hurricane-affected region.”
Kaplan Early Learning Center is a leader in early care and
education through its publishing and development of
curriculum and assessment products.
